Back in the early 70s a Belgian-born American designer didn't know how her life was about to change when she designed a knitted jersey wrap dress. She introduced a timeless style into the world, a flattering, easy-to-wear dress that fastens with a simple tie at the waist. Of course I'm talking about Diane von Fürstenberg. 

The wrap dress has all the elements of an iconic piece: is timeless, functional, open to variations and it flatters any woman's body type. As Diane von Fürstenberg said herself it represents freedom, empowerment and confidence. 

It has been 40 years since Diane von Furstenberg debuted her iconic wrap dress, which not only impacted the fashion industry, but also the lives of the women who have worn it. A iconic piece of this kind deserves celebrate its maturity with a big party, so with over 200 examples of the famous frock and photos from the designer's live, a new retrospective, Diane von Furstenberg: Jorney of a Dress in Los Angeles, honors the piece that is so much more than just a dress.
