Rule # 32: How to wear Wellington boots (rain/rubber boots).

Good morning my dears!

It has been a long time since my last post but I'm back. In this part of the world seems the summer doesn't want to end even though it’s already November. The rain will come soon (even though we wish it wouldn’t) so we should be prepared for those rainy and grey days, mainly when it comes to our footwear. Nowadays, Wellingtons or rubber boots have become really fashionable and trendy. Since Kate Moss showed up to an English music festival wearing a pair of wellies, every single woman wants to get her hands on a pair. The world has changed a lot! I remember when I was little nobody wanted to wear them!

Of course the Wellington boots you can find now in shops don't look like the ones you wore 20 years ago. You have a huge variety of colours, shapes and styles. Although the most famous name in this industry might be Hunter, the world’s most famous designers have got caught up in this trend and they offer a lot of possibilities. But how can you wear wellies and still look stylish? Pay attention – here’s how.

CLASSIC STYLE

Classic style is the very first option that can be created with the help of Wellington boots. For this kind of look, you can combine them with a stripy or just a white T-shirt and bluish jeans, picking them in colour like red, for example. Spicing up the look with accessories is another creative thing you can do. Necklaces with creative design solutions and studded bags for example will look great and you can finish off with a classic trench coat.

PLAYFUL

In order to create a playful innocent look, you can try out combining a T-dress or shirt dress with a brighter toned raincoat or rain jacket. Then you can pick out some knee high socks and spice up the look with simple golden earrings and a small or medium size cross-body handbag.

FASHIONABLE

Almost all of the modern stylists agree that wellies go really well with jeans of any type and shade. Skinny alternatives will be ideal for the loose upper parts of rain boots and more relaxed cuts can be nicely accentuated by hiding the extra drapes and loose parts. Going for printed and colourful options is also possible, but you need to be cautious not to make the prints and the designs of the boots too similar to those of the pants. The classic forms of pants can be matched with the classic monochrome colours like brown, olive and beige.

Now you have the tips to look chic and trendy in your wellies! Enjoy!
